From a Valley of Talol, Premiering at Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival!

After applying to a number of festivals, we are extremely excited to announce that From a Valley of Talol will be a world premiere at the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival, where thousands of people will have the opportunity to experience our film. We our excited for the potential of this film and look forward to August and September, when more festivals will begin to get back to us on acceptances.

At the onset of this journey to make an argument about the impacts that United States policies have on the international community (in just ten minutes), I didn’t quite understand the scope of the project.

From researching, to production, to translating, to researching, to editing and editing and editing, we finally arrived to a film that we were pleased with. As our first endeavor in documentary filmmaking, this project taught us lessons of visual story telling and the space that is required for a story to be told.

From a Valley of Talol tells a powerful story of resilience and hope in a world where hope is hard to come by. It is a story of healing and of community.

After trekking the educational and transformational experience of this film over the course of a year, I am left with a deep desire to apply the lessons I’ve learned about pacing and filmmaking as a poetic form to my next endeavors.
